What data do you collect about my child?

We collect only the minimum data needed to personalize stories: your child's first name, age group, and reading level. We never collect location data, contact lists, or browsing history. How does Family Voice Recording work? Is my voice stored securely?

Family Voice Recording lets you record a short sample of your voice so stories can be narrated in Mama's or Dada's voice. Your voice sample is processed by our secure voice service (ElevenLabs) and stored encrypted. It is never shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than narrating your family's stories. You can delete your family voice recording at any time from the Family Profile page.

How does the bilingual feature help my child learn Spanish?

Every story is generated in both English and Spanish simultaneously. Children can read in English only, Spanish only, or both languages side by side. The read-along mode highlights words as they are narrated, helping children connect written and spoken words in both languages. In 'I'll Read' mode, children can tap any word to see its age-appropriate definition, hear it pronounced, and see its translation. Each story also includes vocabulary spotlights and comprehension quizzes to build bilingual literacy naturally through storytelling.

Story text is generated in about 30 seconds. Illustrations are created progressively as you read, so you can start reading right away while images load in the background. A complete story with all illustrations typically takes 1–2 minutes to fully generate. Once created, stories are saved and load instantly when you re-read them.

How are the illustrations generated? Are they AI-created?

Yes, all illustrations are generated using AI image technology. Each illustration is created specifically for your story, matching the characters, setting, and action described in the text. Characters maintain a consistent appearance throughout the story (same skin tone, hair, clothing). Parents can choose from different illustration styles (watercolor, cartoon, classic storybook) in the Parent Safety settings.

Yes. We are fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We require verifiable parental consent before collecting any child data. How does the app teach phonics?

A daily Phonics Tip of the Day teaches letter sounds and blends before each story. What is 'Write About It' and how does it work?

Write About It is a post-story writing feature available for Premium subscribers. After finishing a story, your child receives an AI-generated writing prompt tailored to the story they just read and their grade level. For Kindergarten, it’s a simple draw-and-dictate prompt. For Grades 1–2, it uses sentence frames. For Grade 3, it mirrors the NJSLA state test format (Prose Constructed Response). After submitting, the AI provides encouraging, rubric-based feedback (scored 1–4) highlighting what the child did well and one area to improve. Children earn 2 stars for each completed writing response.
